PONGAROA SALE.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having had a yarding of 1100 sheep at the P’ongaroa sale on Monday. There was a large attendance of the public and keen competition resulted. The

condition of the sheep was a great improvement on the sale held last month and very satisfactory ppreies were realised as follow:—2-tooth. wethers, 18/7, 20/2, 20/6; shorn ewe lambs, 16/1; b.f. lambs, to 15/7; small 2-tooth ewes, to 10/; mixed-age ewes, 17/10; 4 and 5year ewes, 15/6, 17/ to 19/10; 5-year ewes, 13/.

N.Z. LOAN & MERCANTILE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report having submitted a very full yarding of sheep to’a large attendance of buyers. Competition was keen throughout the sale,

with a brisk demand for the better class of ewes while lambs also made good prices. Following is the range of prices:—2-tooth ewes, 28/, 26/5, 26/2, 26/ to 24/; small do., 19/7 to 20/; 2tooth wethers, 20/; 4 and 6-tooth ewes, 20/3, 24/ to 24/8; 4 and 6-tooth and 4year, 22/6; best 4 and 5-year ewes, 21/2; 4-year do., 20/, 22/1 to 24/; 5year do, 17/6, 18/10 to 19/2; 5 and 6year do., 12/10 to 17/6; fat ewes, 17/6; b.f. lambs, 12/6, 13/10 to 16/4; w.f. wether lambs, 13/9, 14/6, 14/8 to 16/6; m.s. lambs, 10/9, 12/1 to 16/2; Romney rams made from Ign. to 3|gns.; S.D. rams, Ign. to 3|gns.
