WAIRARAPA R.S.A.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. FLOCK HOUSE TRAINEES. A meeting of the committee of the Wairarapa R.S.A. was held last evening. Mr. J. H. Irving presided, and there were also present: Messrs A. H. W. Evenden, L. S. Niool, W. L. Free, G. M. Pennain, H. F. Budd, E. Sortain Smith, N. J. White, G'. T. Cornlck and A. E. Prentice (hon secretary). Apologies for absence were accepted from Messrs D. G. Johnston (Carterton), Jt Martin (Martinborough), and J. Ik. Ross (Featherston). The treasurer, Mr. L. S. Nicol, presented a statement of the finances, of the association showing a credit balance of £243 16s Id. The secretary reported that two trainees had been accepted for Flock House, and that a further application was before the meeting for consideration. It was decided to recommend the acceptance of the third boy, subject to satisfactory arrangements being made in regard to the finance. It was reported that the Featherston sub-branch had recently held a very successful annual meeting. The membership of the association was reported at 335 at date.
It was decided to ask the association’s hon. chaplain (the Rev. E. J. Rich) to organise the forthcoming 20tb Anzac Day service.
