COUNTRY DEFEAT TOWN ELEVEN. SPECTACULAR FINISH. WELLINGTON, March 4. The Country cricket representatives gained a decisive victory by three wickets over Town in the annual match, which was concluded at the Basin Reserve, Wellington, this afternoon. A. Cutler (Manawatu) ended the match in spectacular fashion by lifting J. R. Lamason into the stand enclosure for six. Country’s victory was enthusiastically received by the crowd. Continuing its second innings this morning Town were all out for 206 and shortly before lunch Country required 158 runs in their second innings to win the match.
