OBITUARY.
MR. WILLIAM DALRYMPLE.
The many friends of Mr. William Dalrymple, of South Road, Masterton, will regret to hear of his death, which occurred yesterday afternoon at the Masterton Hospital. The late Mr. Dalrymple, who was 72 years of age, had only been ill for a week, his death occurring after an operation. Born in Leicestershire, England, in 1862, the son of a prominent surgeon, Mr. Dalrymple studied medicine before coming to New Zealand in 1884 and soon after his arrival in this country he took up his residence in the Wairarapa, where he had lived practically all his life. For over forty years he' was in the service of the Gear Meat Company. He was recognised as a splendid judge of stock. Of a quiet, retiring disposition, Mr. Dalrymple possessed an extremely kindly nature and the sympathy of a'wide circle of friends will be extended to the bereaved relatives. He is survived by a widow, a daughter, Mrs G'. F. Elliott, Wangaehu, and three sons Messrs John (Wellington), William and Arthur Dalrymple (Mastertori). An elder daughter predeceased him six years ago.
The funeral will take place tomorrow, leaving the residence, 'South Road, at 2 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
