DILLINGER’S THANKS.
INSOLENCE AND AUDACITY. LETTER TO HENRY FORD. DETROIT, August 18. Another example of Dillinger’s supreme insolence and audacity is revealed with the publication of a letter the desperado mailed to Mr. Henry Ford shortly before he was killed at Chicago on July 22, complimenting him on the excellent motor car he had produced. “I want to thank you for making such an excellent car. If I am ever caught it will have to be by someone in another Ford.” The Ford officials first thought that the letter was a joke but its authenticity has been affirmed.
