WRESTLING.

REFEREE AWARDS MATCH TO DETTON.

ALI BEY DISQUALIFIED.

WANGANUI, July 18.

After a fall against him in the fourth round Dean Detton was awarded a bout against Ali Bey this evening when Bey was disqualified in the fifth round by the referee, Mr. George Bennett. Bey threw Detton over the ropes and then kicked him while he was outside the ring and prevented him from getting back. Mr. Bennett immediately got out of the ring too, and awarded Detton the bout. The match was quite interesting, although there was much punching. Bey got a fall in the fourth round after battering Detton on the solar plexus and head and then dumping him four times with a headlock and cross buttock. —The fall came with a body press.—(P.A.)
