WEATHER REPORTS.
Mastertom Miss R. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph, 30.25; shade temperature, maximum, 42.6- minimum, 33.6; terrestrial, 26.6; rain, 18 points; frost, 3.8 degrees. Solway: Mr. H. M. Boddington reports that 7 points of rain were registered at Solway for the 24 hours up to 9 a.m. yesterday. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—An anti-cyclone now extends across the North Tasman and northern New Zealand, while a westerly depression is advancing over the South Tasman. Forecast: Winds, light to moderate southerly, veering to westerly, and in and south of Cook Strait to freshening north-westerly. Weather: Fair to fine generally; showery about Foveaux Strait. Becoming unsettled by to-morrow in western districts from Taranaki southwards. Rain developing In that area. Cold to-night, with many frosts. Temperatures becoming milder to-morrow.
