WEATHER REPORTS.
Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph, 30.10; shade temperature, maximum, 53.8; minimum, 37.4; terrestrial, 34; sunshine, 12min.; rain, 44 points. Solway: Mr. H. M. Buddington reported that 57 points of rain were registered at Solway for the 24 hours up to .9 a.m. yesterday.
The Government Meteorologist^(Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—The recent depression is now located east of the Dominion and an anti-cyclone is approaching across the Tasman. Pressure is again falling, however, over Tasmania. Forecast: Winds, moderate to strong southerly, still gale force at places along East Coast, decreasing soon. Weather: Fine in western districts of - the South Island; elsewhere changeable, with passing showers and in places hail, but conditions improving to-morrow. Cold temperatures. Sharp frosts inland.
