RIVER BOARD POLL.
SOUTH WAZRARAPA ELECTION. KEEN INTEREST SHOWN. (From Our Glreytown Correspondent). Keen interest was taken yesterday in a poll for the election of seven representatives on the 'South Wairarapa River Board. Nine nomimSsßfes were received for the seven vacancies. All the retiring members except Mr. E. C. Holmes, who has been a member for a considerable number of years and is also chairman of the Kahutara River Board-were re-elected, Mr. Holmes being replaced by Mr. H. Martin. Details of the poll are as follow: B. W. Matthews, 168; R. McDougall, 167; A. H. Ashdown, 164; A. Linton, 157; Q. Donald, 156; H. Martin, 130; Allan Donald 94 (the above are elected); D. C. Collins, 82; E C. Holmes, 75.
