WEDDING.

HASTIE—COLD. ’’ A wedding of wide interest was celebrated at St. Mark’s Church, Carterton, on Tuesday afternoon, the contracting parties being Maude Ailsa, only daughter of Mr. Percy Cole, Town Clerk, Carterton, and Mrs. Cole, and Andrew John Robertson, elder son of Mrs. Edwin Hastie and the late Mr. Hastie, of “Ngaio Grove,” Manaia, Taranaki. The Vicar, the Rev. W. P. Stent, officiated. Mr. A. Miller Hope presided at the organ. The bride was greeted at the church door by Master Dick Budd, who presented her with a dwnty horse-shoe composed of violets. She was given away by her father. The bride’s beautiful wedding gown was cut on long, close-fjtting lines and was of mushroom pink Peau d’Arige lace, finished with a velvet bow at the waist line. A pretty pale pink felt hat and shoes of the same colour were also worn. Her charming bouquet was composed of eream rose blooms, freesias and maidenhair fern. The two bridesmaids, Miss M. B. D. Shaw (chief) and Miss Catherine Moncrieff, both of Wellington, were gracefully attired in long gowns of shaded brown wind-swept velvet, with brown felt hate and shoes to .tone. Their bouquets were of freesias, Iceland poppies and late autumn foliage. Gold necklets, the gift of the bridegroom, were also worn. The little Misses Jocelyn McConnell, Riiakakapa'tuna, and Lois Deller, Carterton, made sweet maids, frocked in long pale pink spotted net with .brown velvet sashes, withpretty floral Alice bands worn in their hair. Their posies were of pink daisies. Each wore silver bracelets, the gift of the bridegroom. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Edward Manaia, and the groomsman was Mr. Rex Shaw, of Mastorton. Mr. D L Taverner and Mr. L. J. Fairbrother acted as ushers at the church. The choir was in attendance and the service fullv choral.

After tie ceremony, the guests, numbering over 200, adjourned to the Tea Kiosk at the Showgrounds, where the reception and wedding breakfast were held. Mrs. P. A. Cole received her . ln a black ring velvet with black felt hat. Pink heather, violets and autumn foliage composed her bouquet. Mrs. Hastie, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy blue ensemble, with hat to tone.
