NEW SOCCER CLUB.

AT CARTERTON. OFFICERS ELECTED. The formation of the Carterton Association Football Club was decided upon at a aneeting in Carterton on Tuesday night. Delegates were present at the meeting from Masterton, Messrs. JR. J. Weir, lx. Lamb-and A. Cretney, who are members of the Management Committee of the Football Association.

Officers were selected as follow:— Patron, Mt H. E. Ward; president, Mr W. Steven; .Vice-presidents, Messrs. A. Phillpotts, G. Dykes, -Geo. Brown, W. Vaughan, G. Steven, H. B. Keenan, L. J. O’Neill. W. S. Montgomery, EL Williams, J. A. B. Lawrence, J. A. Dudson, H. Swain (with power to add); secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. J. I)-wane; management committee, Messrs. W. Steven, H. E. Wand, J. Wilson, W. Vaughan and the secretary; selectors, Messrs. W. Steven, W. J. Dwane and the team captain; coach, Mr. W. Steven; team captain, Mr. A. Ward-vice-captain, Mr. W. Ward.

It was decided that the club’s colours be a maroon jersey and black and red hooped stockings, and that the club affiliate with the Wairarapa Association.

Club subscriptions were -fixed at 5s per player, and the playing field Carrington Park, for the use of which Messrs. W. Steven and A. Ward were delegated to make arrangements- with the Town Clerk. Volunteers- agreed to mark and to attend to other matters on the ground, and it was left in the hands of the secretary to arrange for corner flags, posts, etc.
