JOHNSONVILLE SALE.
WELLINGTON, April 5. Messrs Wright, iStephenson and Co., Ltd., report on the Johnsonville sale held yesterday as follows: —*We submitted an average yarding of all classes of stock. The cattle section comprised good quality heavyweight bullocks with a few pens of lighter sorts, some prime heavy cows and heifers, and good quality vealers. Competition was good at late rates, prices showing no quotable change. In the sheep yarding some good quality wethers were penned which met with good demand, but lighter and plainer wethers were dull of sale. Ewes were keenly sought after, the quality of the yarding being better than the last few weeks. Tak-
ing quality into account, prices could I be considered on a par with last week’s • rates. Lambs, which were yarded in sntaller numbers than usual, met with a ready sale.
