Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph, 30.60; shade temperature, maximum, 56.6; minimum, 33.6; terrestrial, 24.6; sunshine, 3 hours 36 minutes; rain, 2 points; frost, 5.8 degrees. Solway: Mr. H. M. Boddington reports that 7 points of rain were registered for the 24 hours up till 9 o’clock yesterday morning. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday as follows:—General situation: An extensive and intense anti-eyelone is centred over the Dominion. Forecast: Winds variable at first, gradually tending to northerly, later freshening in and south of Cook Strait. Weather: Fine generally, becoming wanner but some scattered showers likely in the far northern and southern extremities of the Dominion. Sun rises, 6.17 a.m.; sets, 6.44 p.m. Lighting-up time, 7.14 p.m.
