LONDON WOOL SALES.
The New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following advice from its London House, dated March 6:—Wool sales: There was a full attendance at the opening of the sales to-day, competition by Home and Continental buyers being fairly active. The opening catalogues were, not representative. As compared with last sale’s closing rates, prices are lower Jd per lb. for greasy merino; prices are lower Jd to Id per lb. for scoured crossbred; medium and coarse greasy crossbred and crossbred slipe,
The Bank of Australasia has received the following cable from Messrs Balme and Thomas, London, dated March 6:—London wool sales: Merinos par 5 per cent., fine cross 5 per cent., medium and coarse 10 per cent, below January, slipe fine unchanged, medium and coarse 5 per cent., 10 per cent., below January.
