KIATERE HARRIERS.

ANNUAL MEETING LAST EVENING.

PROSPECTS OF SUCCESSFUL SEASON.

The annual meeting of the Kiatere Harrier Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last night. Mr. G. C. H. Traill, a vice-president of the club, occupied the chair. Several new members were elected and all the indications were for a very successful season.

Mr. Traill, in opening the meeting, expressed satisfaction with the record for the past season. As the club coach he was confident that within ten years the club would be providing a national representative. He had been very pleased to see a member compete creditably in the 20-mile Marathon race at the Hutt.

The secretary, Mr. W. O. Hawke, reported a credit balance for the past season of £4 12s 7d.

The report and’ balance-sheet were adopted.

The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. Hugh Morrison; president, Mr. G. C. H. Traill; vice-presidents, Messrs. V. G. Davis, E. J. Heffer, J. McDonald, D. C. Stuart, J. Ryder, W. G-. Laing, A. Cox, R. Mills, J. V. Caverhill, R. ,J. Davie, and F. Nelson; hon. secretary, Mr. W.’O. Hawke; hon. treasurer. -Mr. J. L. Burns; club captain, Mr. A. J. F. Carter; vice-captain, Mr. S. L. Rutherford; handicapper and club coach, Mr. G. C. H. Traill; timekeepers, Messrs. M. B. Kingston and L. Henderson ; committee, . Messrs. A. J. F Carter, A. Burns, W. McDonald,’ J* Burns; delegate to Wairarapa Subcentre, Mr. W. Hawke; delegate to Harrier Sub-committee, Mr. EL J. Heffer; delegate to Harrier Trust Board, Mr. A. A. Nattrass.

It was decided that the official opening day be April 21, and that the first preliminary run be held on April 7. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the ladies* committee and to Messrs. Traill and Hawke.
