SHOW TO BE HELD ON MABUH'7.' ALLAN MEMORIAL CUP.A meeting of the committee of the Masterton Horticultural Society was held Hast night, Mr. L. Catton presid-' rng in the absence of Mr. H. Pr Huge. It was reported that the society hid' purchased a handsome eup, to be called the James Allan Memorial -Onip, for annual cojipetitiim at the spring’ anTT autumn shows, in- the class for a ooßbetion of cut flowers, six species, points to be awarded on a 4,3, 2, 1 basis for first, second, third and fourth respectively. The winner will hold ths- cup for one year and a miniature cup will be presented every year. It was decided to hold'the Autumn Show on Mftreh 7, for which the follow- ; in g judges were appointed:—Cut flowers, Mr. A. J. Shailer (Palmerston North); fruit and vegetables, Mr. Davies (Palmerston North); decorative, Miss Martin (Martinborongh); fancy work, Mrs. J. Martin (Martinborough); home industries, Mrs. W. H. Booth (Carterton). Stewards: Cut flowers, open, Messrs N. B. Sutherland, L. B. Nieol; cottagers, Messrs H. L. Esau and H. P. Hugo; decorative, Mrs. 8., V. Skeet; home industries, Mrs. H. J. Rayner, Miss Canapbell; fancy work, Mrs. Moser; fruit and vegetables, Messrs F. W. Groves and G: G. Tolhurst. Mrs. A. Kilgour will have charge of the afternoon tea and Mrs. Welch the produce stall.

Seven prizes ranging from 15s to 2s have been donated by Mr. F. G. Maunsell for the best collections of white butterflies exhibited at the show.
