BAND RETURNS HOME.

GOOD PERFORMANCE IN TEST; “Altogether the band did exceedingly well,” said Mr. R. J. Young, conductor of the Masterton Municipal Band, which returned home last- night attending the Dominion contest in Wellington. The band, which tied tor the second place in the B grade championship, had a most enjoyable concert in the Town HaU on Saturday the highest of any B grade band at the contest in the first tsst piece. It also took part in the demonstration W v 6 T ° Wn 0,1 »‘nrday night. Mr. Young added that the band would give a concert in Masterton in the near future, at which the test pieces would be played.
