Masterton, February 24: Miss R. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m.:—Barograph, 30.45; shade temperature, maximum, 76.4; minimum, 44; terrestrial, 35; sunshine, 12 hours 24 minutes. ; February 25: Barograph, 30.50; shade temperature, maximum, 78.8; minimum, 47.6; terrestrial, 29.6; sunshine, 11 hours 42 minutes. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m .yesterday as follows:—General situation: An intense anti-cyclone is now moving off New Zealand and a depression is approaching from the westward. Forecast: Winds, moderate to strong northerly to north-westerly, reaching gale force at places in and south of Cook Strait. Weather: Fair to fine in eastern districts, elsewhere becoming cloudy and unsettled, with rain in western districts from Taranaki southward and the far south; temperatures warm, especially in eastern [provinces. Sun rises, 5.56 a.m.; sets, 7.13 p.m. Lighting-up time, 7.43 p.m.
