CENTRAL SCHOOL.

ANNUAL SWIMMING SPORTS. SOME KEEN CONTESTS. Pupils of the Mastorton Central School held their annual swimming sports at the Dixon Street baths yesterday. Although the weather was not as bright as it might have been the baths enclosure proved quite warm and the water pleasant. The various events were very keenly contested and the finishes in many cases were very close. The programme included senior and junior events for both boys and girls and covered 25 and 50 yards free, breast and back stroke races, standing, running and high diving, corfu diving (through tyre), cork bobbing and interhouse relay races. The championships resulted as follow:— • Senior boy: F. Toxward; runner-up, E. Reeves. Senior girl: Theo. Scott; runner-op, R. Perry. Junior boy: B. MeHattie; runner-up, G. Pitt.

Junior girl: Joan Wylie; runner-up, Phyllis Cretney. The house championship was won by Grey House, with Seddon House as runner-up.
