Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:—Barograph, 3035; shade temperature, maximum, 69.8; minimum, 37.6; terrestrial, 44.6; sunshine, 5 hours 54 minutes. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday as follows. - —A rather intense anticyclone is moving on to New Zealand; a cyclone is centred on the coast of New South Wales but is filling up. Forecast: Winds, south-west to southeast, moderate to strong but decreasing, later becoming variable at many places. Weather, for the most part fine but a few isolated local showers possible; temperatures cool, gradually becoming milder. Sun rises, 5.52 a.m.; sets, 7.18 p.m. Lighting-up time, 7.48 p.m.
