RELIEF ALLOCATIONS.
PROTEST AGAINST BOARD’S POLICY. hawera committee urges COMBINED ACTION. HAWERA, February 14. Steps towards combined action against the Unemployment Board’s discrimination between town and country relief allocations was taken at a Committed Un< Wloyment . The Mayor, Mr. J. El Campbell, who is chairman of the committee, was CaU a conf erence of Taranaki Mayors for the purpose of arranging public meetings of protest and to suggest that petitions be circulated in their districts, the Mayors to form a d ?P to the Prime Minister . Mr. Campbell was further requested to circularise local bodies outside the province with a view to securing cooperation in a national protest, and to at - dele « ates t<J the Munieipal Association ’s Conference at Wellw gtl> v ’?
