APENNINE AVALANCHE.

HOUSES AND FARMS BURIED. AT LEAST ELEVEN KILLED. ROME, February 13. A big section of Mount’Sesana, the source of earlier avalanches on February 3 and 5, has fallen on the village of San Lazzaro in the Apennines. The valley was overwhelmed to the extent of half a mile, the avalanche burying houses and killing at least eleven, including four women and four children, and destroying a number of farms. The inhabitants are terror-stricken, fearing further falls. Men, women, and children are fleeing the district, driving their live stock before them.
