COSY THEATRE.
•’ “JPHE GIRL IN 419” TO-NIGHT. “The Girl in 419,” which comes to the Cosy Theatre this evening, is announced as a most unusual type of drama, dealing with a most unusual theme—a “mystery case” at an emergency hospital, and the startling events which led up to and succeeded the “ease’s” arrival. It teems with action, excitement and romance—and it has its comedy moments, too. The feature players in this Paramount production are James Dunn and Gloria Stuart and there is a strong supporting cast. .The story opens with the discovery of the murder of a gangster, and the simultaneous discovery of a girl apparently dying in the street miles away, opens up the story. The girl is rushed to hospital, where the doctor in charge, intrigued by her beauty spends days in an effort to save her, and finally succeeds. But when she regains consciousness, she refuses to tell who she is, how or why she was beaten. When papers announce she is recovering, an armed gangster invades the hospital and attempts to kill her. He succeeds only in wounding another doctor, and in getting killed himself. The picture develops to its culmination in an atmosphere of mystery and with plenty of spirited action. Seats may be reserved at Perry’s, ’phone 2496.
