The Rev. J. Cocker left yesterday afternoon to attend the Methodist Conference in Wellington. Mrs. H. E. Hart, wife of the Administrator of Western Samoa, will be arriving in New Zealand next Tuesday on a three months’ holiday visit The Rev. R. J. Howie, minister of St. Andrew’s, Wellington, last evening accepted a call addressed to him by the congregation of the Malvern Presbyterian Church, Melbourne.—(P.A.) Mr. H. R. Francis, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Francis, of Essex Street, has received his diploma in banking from the New Zealand University. Mr. Francis, who is on the staff of the Bank of New South Wales, Sydney, was a pupil of the Central School and the Wairarapa High School.
