' ““ The Clerk, Mr. J. C. D. MacKey, said that the Department ’s first estimate of the cost of the work was £l5, but when application was made- by the council for further details the estimate was reduced to £l2 10a, It was now £lO/9/9. of which the council was asked to contribute half. Mr. Maekley said he understood that' the? workmen were only on the jo.l> for one-diiy, and £9 seemed a lot of taoney to him for the work d one. , Councillors agreed' with the Clerk, and it was decided’ to hold the matter over pending farther information from the P. and T. Dopentment.
