COSY THEATRE.

“TRICK FOR TRICK” FINALLY 4 TO-NIGHT.

“Trick for Trick” is to be shown finally at the Cosy Theatre to-night. Reserves at Perry’s, ’phone 2496. TO-MOBBOW’S ATTBACTIONS. AMATEUR TRIALS & “NO MAN OF HER OiWN.” At the Cosy Theatre to-morrow, the last preliminary round of the amateur trials for juvenile performers will be staged. The finals will take place on Saturday, September 2. New picture programmes will be screened at both afternoon and evening sessions tomorrow. The matinee items include news, cartoon, comedy and serial pictures and Buck Jones in “Sundown Riders.” The feature of the evening programme is Paramount's “No Man of Her Own,” a swift-moving drama starring Clark Gable. As Jerry Stewart a gambler for high stakes, who loses only when it suits him to, Gpble gives a splendid characterisation that is said to rank with his best efforts. The drama never misses fire, and Gable is seldom out of the picture. Carole Lombard, as Connie Randall, the girl he falls in love with, even to the extent of renouncing his unlawful ways, gives him excellent support in a most charming manner, and Dorothy Mackaill, looking as beautiful as ever, completes a triangle which brings the complications of love for the first time into Stewart’s life. The plot is simple in its essentials, but always interesting, and the dialogue is particularly good, full of the deftest touches and Bright humour. Seats may be reserved at Perry's, ’phone 2496.
