SECONDARY EDUCATION.
MEETING OF WAIRARAPA BOARD. The deputy-chairman, Mr. L. J. Taylor, presided at the monthly meeting, of the Wairarapa Secondary Education Board, held last night. Others present were: Mrs. T. R.. Barrer, Messre. A. T. Jackson, W. A. Clark© and. J. L. MeV. Calwell. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. A. Donald, J. Wright and G. Selby. The Trust Lands Trust advised that it could not entertain a request by the board for the exchange of a cottage belonging to the boat'd for a larger dwelling owned by the Trust. The cottage is to be used in connection with a specialised home science course at the Technical School.
“Straight out from the shoulder,” observed Mr. Clarke. The letter was received.
The Acting-Princpal of the Technical ‘School reported that good progress was being made with the reorganisation of the library at the school. The pupils, he added, had responded magnificently to an appeal for books, over 300 being received.
The Technical Education Association wrote stating that it had been decided not to hold a conference this year.
It was decided to ask the Trust Lands Trust to confer with lie board to consider the question of r tablishing scholarships at the High School and the Technical School.
