TALK ABOUT OONSCBIPTION IN CANADA. RESENTFUL CBITICISM. OTTAWA, May 15. Brigadier-General Anderson's statement at a military banquet that Canada's military training should be on a conscription basis has created a furore. 4 'lt is not the policy of the Government,'' declares Sir George Perley, the Acting-Premier. Mr. E. C. St. Pere (Liberal), Montreal, said: "An official who talks like that should be fired." The statement is not Governmental, states Colonel La Fleche, DeputyMinister of Defence and president of the Canadian Legion.
