WEATHER REPORTS.
Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 29.82; shade temperature, maximum 69.6, minimum 58.6; terrestrial, 50.6; sunshine, 5 hours 36 minutes. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday as follows:—A deep, westerly depression has been crossing the Dominion today; an extensive and intense anti-cyclone now covers Australia, with its centre near Adelaide; forecast, winds strong north-westerly winds to gales north of Westport and Kaikoura, elsewhere southerly and southerlies becoming general by to-morrow morning; weather cold, changeable and squally, with showers in most districts, snow on some of the ranges of the South Island, improving, however, soon in western districts. Sun rises, 6.25 a.m.; sets, 5.15 p.m. Lighting-up time:—s.4s p.m.
