CALIFORNIAN EARTHQUAKE.

LATEST ESTIMATE OF DEATH , BOLL THOUSAND IN HOSPITAL. LOS ANGELES, March 13. A fairly strong earthquake occurred at 5.18 a.m. on Monday. No damage was reported. The death roll is now 119, and the damage is estimated at 40,000,000 dollars. A thousand injured are in hospital, while probably four thousand received emergency treatment. At Long Beach the death roll is now estimated at 50. The reduction in the number is due to wrong identifications of the same bodies. KING DEEPLY CONCERNED. MESSAGE OF SYMPATHY. RUGBY, March 13. On his learning of the disaster the following telegram was addressed by the King to President Roosevelt:—“l am deeply concerned with the heavy [loss of life which has been occasioned by the disastrous earthquake in California, and would ask you, Mr. President, to accept this expression of my sincere sympathy with all those who have sustained bereavement or injury as a result of this calamity.”—(British Official Wireless.)
