PETROL PRICES.
REDUCTION OF TWO PENCE A GALLON. STATEMENT BY MR. COATES. WELLINGTON, March 14. The oil companies operating in New Zealand have agreed to reduce the price of bulk petrol two pence a gallon as from to-morrow. This announcement was made to-day by the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, following a further conference with representatives of the companies concerned. Since the Government reduced the tax by a* penny a gallon tit retail price here has oeen 2s 2d for first grade.—(P.A.)
