MASTERTON CLUB FOURS’ COMPETITION. ELIMINATING ROUND ON SATURDAY. In the eliminating round of the Masterton Bowling Club’s fours competition, played on Saturday, Hyde, Williams, J. Dagg, Nielsen (s) beat Blane, Reeves, McCullough, Maxwell (s), and A. Welch, L. Larsen, G. Douglar, W. ’ Hendry (s) beat Brady, Thomas, Dorset, Hughes (s). W. Christain, A. O. Jones, G. Hayne, W. Wilkinson (s.) successfully defended their title to the Wall Cup, defeating the challengers, W. Brady, A. Hendry, W. Hendry, W. Nielsen (s). keetley medals. HOLDERS DEFEATED IN GOOD GAME. A match for the Keetly Medals was played on the Park Bowling Club’s green on Saturday between the holders, Strang and Kilgour (s) and H. Ewington and Vincent (s). On the 12th. head the scores were 15 all, 17 all on the 14th., 19 all on the 17th., and 21 all on the 19th. Vincent burned the 20th. head with' the holders lying two up and secured two on the replay and another on the 21st. which gave the challengers victory by 24/21'. Both pairs played great bowls, especially the leads, Strang and Ewington. They are both first year players but they played splendidly and were either on the kitty or close behind. They played very few short ones which made things a lot easier for the skips. CHAMPION SINGLES. WON BY W. FRANKS. The Wairarapa champion of champion singles contest, played at Featherston on Saturday, was won by W. Franks (Featherston) who defeated all his opponents.
