Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported at 9 a.m. as follows:—
Barograph, 30.50; shade temperature, maximum 78.6, minimum 40; terrestrial 29; sunshine, 11 hours 24 minutes; frost, 1.4 degrees. March 12: Barograph, 30.45; shade temperature, maximum 78.8, minimum 45.6; terrestrial, 34.4; sunshine, 11 hours 12 minutes.
The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—An intense anti-cyclone is now located east of New Zealand. A shallow depression is centred near Cape Maria van Diemen and a rather deep one near Tasmania. Forecast: Winds, north-east to northerly, strong in far north; elsewhere moderate, but increasing. Weather, showers in northern north-eastern portion of North Island, extending gradually southwards; otherwise fair to fine. Temperatures warm.
