CARTERTON SALE.
The New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Distributing Co., Ltd., report on their usual weekly Carterton sale as follows:—A medium, yarding of sheep was offered to the usual atendaneei We had a total clearance at the following prices:— Sheep: 4 and 5-yr. ewes, 5/10 to 7/-; 2, 4 and 6-th. ewes, 7/7 to 7/10; aged ewes, _4/5; cull lambs, 3/- to 3/6; aged S.D rams, 7/6 to 10/-. Pigs: 3-months Large White boars, £2. WRIGHT, STEPHENSON & CO., LTD. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson & Co., Ltd., report: —We held a most successful sale at Carterton yesterday, when a big yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward and was offered to a large attendance of local farmers. Weaner pigs were slightly easier than last week, although porkers elicited keen competition and sold at prices well up to late rates. Pens of ewes, wethers and iambs were keenly sought after and a total clearance was effected under the hammer at the following prices:—■ Sheep.—Two-tooth ewes, 10/6; 2toothwethers, 9/7 to 10/-; 4-year ewes, 8/6 to 9/-; 4 and 5-year ewes, 8/8; 5year ewes, 7/7; m.a. ewes, 6/-, 6/3, 6/4 to 6/6; ewe lambs, 6/- to 6/5; wether lambs, 6/3; b.f. lambs, 8/1; fat lambs, to 12/-. Cattle.—Springing cows, £4 10/-, £6 7/6, to £6 10/-; fat cows, 34/-, £2 4/to £2 6/-; forward cows, 19/-, 21/-, 24/-, 27/-, 28/- to 29/-; store cows, 11/to 15/-; forward bullocks, to £3 7/-; steers, to £2; heifers, r.w.b., 31/-, 35/to £2 12/6; vealers, to 27/6; potter bulls, £2 10/-, £2 13/-, £2 19/-, £3 4/-, £3 6/- to £4 7/-.
