PIRINOA SCHOOL.

EVENT'S AT ANNUAL PICNIC.

(“The Age-" Special.) The Pirinoa School held its annual picnic in Mr. B. McDougall’s paddock On Friday. The weather was beautifully fine and there was a large attendance of parents and visitors. Great credit is due to the members of the School Committee for their untiring efforts in making the picnic one of the most successful of many similar functions. They were ably assisted by the headmistress (Miss Harvey) and her assistant (Miss Guthrie). Mr. R. McDougall was starter and handicapper, and during the day some Close finishes were witnessed, particularly in the married men’s race in which George Busch, after a brilliant effort, was narrowly defeated by his younger opponent. This finish caused great excitement. The events were despatched to time and refreshments concluded a most enjoyable day. The results of the various events were as follow:—
