A Masterton taxi owner, George Watson, appeared before Mr. J. He was remanded until this morning. During the holiday season the Wairarapa Automobile Association is establishing an information bureau in Masterton, in a shop recently occupied by Messrs Barr and Harman, opposite the Post Office. Full particulars will be available as to roads, holiday tours, car insurance, membership etc. The bureau will be open this afternoon, and all day to-morrow, and on Saturday and during certain hours next week Until further notice.

Reporting to a meeting of stewards of the Wairarapa Trotting Club on Tuesday, the secretary, Mr. H. Mortenson, stated that a great deal of interest was being taken in the Boxing Day meeting in Wellington and the district generally. The trotting would be well up to standard, he stated, and a largo attendance could be confidently expected. Several stewards also reported keen interest and all agreed that the indications pointed to a very successful day’s sport.
