MANY NEW ZEALANDERS STRANDED. TRADE COMMISSIONER’S ADVICE. WELLINGTON, December 19. As a result of advice received from Mr. L. J. Schmitt, New Zealand Trade Commissioner in Sydney, the Government warns people intending to migrate to Australia in the hope of obtaining employment to make provision for tlheir return passage in the event of not obtaining employment. Mr. Schmitt says the number of stranded New Zealanders asking assistance from him is greater than ever.— (PJL.)
