WORKERS’ MUTUAL BENEFIT.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the No. 2 Workers’ Mutual Benefit Building Society was held last evening, Mr. R. Krahagen ehainnan presiding over an ’attendance of about 50 shareholders. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. The election of directors resulted in Messrs R. Krahagen and A. J. H. Briden being re-elected and Mr. A. L. jiennett being elected as a new director. Mr. G. W. Sellar was re appointed shareholders’ auditor. A ballot of £BOO in the B Group of the Society resulted in Mr. P. F. Downes being successful in obtaining the £BOO free of interest. In the No. 2 Society the ballots resulted in Mr. A. Donald drawing £2OO and Mrs E. Chennells £4OO free of interest. A sale of £4OO in the No. 2 Society resulted in a tender of £6l 12s fid being accepted. The total amount allocated was £lBOO. In recent times it has been found that a large proportion of tho funds allocated have been expended on new building. It thus appears that the operations of the society are conferring (benefits on industry and trade all the more to be welcomed in existing conditions.
