MR. COATES’S RETURN.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR WELCOME IN WELLINGTON.
STATEMENT ON TUESDAY EVENING.
WELLINGTON, September 16.
With the exception of the Hon. W. D. Stewart, who is in London, there will be a full muster of Cabinet Ministers to welcome the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates on Sunday morning. Several Ministers have been away from Wellington recently, but they will all have .returned by to-morrow morning. Both Mr. Coates and the Hon. H. S. Gullett (Australian Minister of Customs) have accepted an invitation to attend a luncheon that is being given by the Chamber of Commerce on Monday. Official advice has been received that Mr. D. Jones, chairman of the Meat Board, and Mr. H. E. Napier, Fruit Board representative at the Conference, are returning by the Monowai. A civic reception will be given to Mr. Coates in the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. This gathering will be of particular interest as Mr. Coates has intimated by wireless that he will reserve his main statement concerning the Ottawa Conference until he speaks on Tuesday evening.—(P.A.)
