DECREE GRANTED.
MOORCOCK DIVORCE ACTION. AGREEMENT REACHED. WELLINGTON, September 16. When the defended action in which Thomas Moorcock, farmer, of Carrington, petitioned for divorce from Alice Frances Moorcock on the ground of a written agreement for separation was resumed in the Supreme Court to-day, counsel for the respondent asked for leave to amend the answer to the petition, to include a prayer for relief following the form of a cross-petition on the ground of mutual separation. Counsel for the petitioner had agreed to the amendment, and also to allow the evidence he had already given to go in support of the cross-petition and a decree nisi to be granted in the respondent’s favour. Interim alimony up to September 19 had been agreed upon at the rate of £2 10s a week, and from that date at the rate of £2 5s a week, with liberty to either party to apply for variation at any time. Mr. Justice Ostler made the order asked for and granted the respondent a decree nisi. The petition was dismissed, and the respondent was allowed costs on the highest scale. His Honour expressed gratification that such a settlement had been arranged. “(PA.)
