MURDER AT PESHAWAR.
ABDUL RASHID SENTENCED TO DEATH. (Received Friday, 7 p.m.) CALCUTTA, July 29. Abdul Rashid was sentenced to death for the murder of Captain Coldstream. Rashid confessed and made no defence. (A cablegram from Calcutta on July 22: reported:—The tenth political outrage in India this year occurred when Captain W. Coldstream, of the Indian Medical Service, a civil surgeon, was murdered by a young Moslem orderly as he was carrying out his rounds in the hospital at Peshawar. The assailant leaped on Captain Coldstream from behind and stabbed him in the neck. Coldstream died instantly. The Moslem was captured.)
