HOMEWOOD BEAT TINTO. MAUNSELL CUP CONTEST. In the first game for the Maunsell Cup, played at Homewood on Saturday, Homewood defeated Tinui by 14 points to 6. It was a fast, closely contested game, but the Homewood backs were a superior combination. For Homewood, E. Paku, P. Bunny and J. Read scored tries, one of which was converted by Read. H. Morris also kicked a splendid penalty from half-way. L. Beer scored two unconverted tries for Tinui.
