SPARROW SHOOTING.

MASTERTON GUN CLUB SERIES. The Masterton Gun Club continued its sparrow shooting series on Saturday afternoon under perfect conditions save for a breeze from the left. The shooting was rather poor, with the exception that R. J. King who made a possible, only using his second barrel cnee, on the 13th bird. Results (handicap, in yards, and score shown in •that order):—R. J. King, 15. c E Grey, 22, 12; D. McLachlan, 20, 11; N. ‘Kummer, 20, 10; R. Buick, 22, 10; H. tl. Nitz,,l9, 10; F. H. Taplin, 20. Three others competed.

Owing to the Hawke’s Bay and Wairarapa football match on July 16, the next sparrow match will be held next Saturday, July 9.
