OBITUARY.
MR. GEORGE BAKER. The many friends of Mr. George S. Saker, a well-known and highly-respect-ed resident of Masterton for many years, will regret to learn of his death, which occurred yesterday morning at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Judd, of (South Road, after an illness extending over six months. The late Mr. Saker, who was 72 years of age, had been an employee of the late Mr. W. H. Beetham for 38 years, but had lived in retirement for some years. He is survived by a family of eight daughters and two sons, the family being: Messrs. George Saker (Kelburn, Wellington) and Arthur Saker (Christchurch), Mrs. Kemp (Masterton), Mrs. Judd (Masterton), Mrs. L. Sutton (Masterton), Mrs. Pellew (Wellington), Mrs. O’Brien (Hunterville), Mrs. H. Williams (Paramatta), Miss Saker (Masterton) and Miss Saker (Christchurch). His wife predeceased him a few years ago. He was very popular with a wide circle of friends on account of his many personal qualities. The relatives will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their sad bereavement. The funeral will leave 26 South Road at 3 p.m. tomorrow, for the Masterton Cemetery.
