COURSING.

WAIRARAPA CLUB’S SEASON. OPENING ON SATURDAY. The Wairarapa Coursing Club's opening meeting of the season will be held on the Mt. Bruce enclosure on Saturdaynext, when the Wadham Cup will be competed for. The rules governing This cup are for dogs that have not won more than £2 2s and the cup has to be won twice in succession or three times at intervals before becoming the property of the winner. As the result of several successful hare drives, a number of strong hares are now in the enclosure. These are being regularlyschooled and this, combined with a diet of oats, mangolds and carrots should ensure them giving a good account of themselves on Saturday. Last year’s winner of the cup (Mr. W. L. Jensen) will make a strong bid again this year with a young fawn dog by Achieved Hamilton ex Fly. Should he be successful he will win the trophy outright. Mr. J. Taylor, however, will be a likely contender with some young stock by Again Terminus, ex Limes Beauty.
