SPARROW SHOOTING.

MASTERTON GUN CLUB COMPETITION.

The Masterton Gun Club held its first shoot on Saturday afternoon, in a 15bird sparrow match™ The weather was overcast, making the visibility bad. Shooting was good under the circumstances. Mr. N. Kummer and Mr. R. Buick divided the sweepstake with 14 birds apiece. Mr. Kummer also won the second match of six birds, with the possible. Birds are very plentiful and for this reason shoots will be held every fortnight to complete the sparrow matches. Results:—N. Kummer (18yds hep.), 14; R. Buick (20), 14; C. E. Grey (21), 13; D. McLachlan (20), 12; H. J. Nitz (20), 11. Four others took part.
