FORMER PREMIER SENTENCED IN LITHUANIA. CHARGES OF CORRUPTION. (Received Wednesday, 7.50 p.m.) . KOVNO, May 17. ollowing on six years ’ investigation and a trial in which one hundred witnesses were heard, the former Premier of Lithuania, Vegtautas Petrulis, accused of defalcations while in office was sentenced to eighteen months’ pnsonment and ordered to pay £2050. He was alleged to have received money from traffickers in alcohol and also for import licenses for cigarettes and yeast.
