Masterton: Miss R. Robinson reported at 9 a.m. yesterday: Barograph, 30.50; shade temperature, maximum 52, minimum 41; terrestrial, 35.2; sunshine 1 hour 54 minutes; rain, .02. Solway: Mr. H. M. Boddington reports that 3 points of rain were registered at Solway for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. yesterday. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—An intense anti-cyclone is centred in the south Tasman Sea and e/tends from Eastern Australia to beyond New Zealand; a slight depression is passing east of Norfolk Island to-day; the forecast is for winds, variable, with southerly to south-easterly prevailing, light to moderate generally but fresh to strong in the far north; weather, fine in most districts, but some showers still likely in North Auckland and at isolated places in the Bay of Plenty and Gisborne districts; cold night temperatures, with many frosts, especially in the South Island.
