OUTLOOK IN BRITAIN.

POSITION OF THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT. BUMOUB OF IMPENDING SPLIT DENIED. MEMBERS WORKING FOR LASTING SOLUTION. LONDON, December 20. The Parliamentary correspondent of “The Times” says:—“An unfounded suggestion is current that Mr. Ramsay MacDonald is forming a National Party, which is apparently part of a plan to break up the National Cabinet at the earliest possible moment. Mr. Neville Chamberlain is featured as the probable Conservative leader instead of Mr. Baldwin. Members of the House of Commons generally, however, despite many tyros, are showing steadiness, sobriety and judgment, and are determined to support the Government as the one hope of reaching a lasting solution of the country’s difficulties.”
