A meeting of all unemployed workers will be held in the Trades Hall, Masterton, at 8 o'clock to-night. The’ Wairarapa Power Board notifies consumers of Masterton and district that the power will be cut off tomorrow (Wednesday) morning between 3.30 and 4.30 a.m. to enable urgent repairs to "be carried out.
An invitation is extended to all interested to attend the Masterton Tennis Club’s courts this afternoon at 5.30 o'clock, when Mr. T. S. Williams, of Wellington, a professional coach, will lecture on tennis. No charge will bp made for admission
A man named John Murray, who was arrested in Masterton on a warrant issued at Palmerston North, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday morning befog) Mr. W. H. Jackson, J.P., on a charge of disobedience of a maintenance order. He was remanded to appear at Palmerston North to-day.
Some keen amateur wrestling bouts Should ho witnessed in the King’s Theatre, Carterton, to-morrow evening, when the Wairarapa Championships will be decided. Four gold medals are offered for the light weight, welter, middle and light heayv contests respectively, besides a medal for most points. Competitors from all parts of the Wairarapa are taking part.
